Gercy Galang is a hairstylist, makeup artist and native San Diegan. Inspired by a love of styling that began in her youth, she has built a career serving a diverse regional and international clientele while developing a distinctive approach that balances timeless techniques with a refined, modern sensibility. Beyond the salon, Gercy has collaborated with visual artists on editorial and fine art projects, led educational workshops for emerging stylists, and continues to draw inspiration from travel, nature, and everyday observation. At the heart of her work is a commitment to helping each client feel authentically themselves.
John Francis Peters

John Francis Peters is a photographer and mixed-media artist based in San Diego, California. Born in Los Angeles and raised in New York’s Hudson Valley, his work explores the connections between people, place, memory, and time. Drawing from both documentary and fine art traditions, Peters’ projects often emerge through intuition, observation, and chance encounters, moving fluidly between the personal and the social.
Through photography and mixed media, Peters seeks to create work that fosters connection, reflection, and a deeper awareness of the world around us.
Aimmie M. Paraiso

Aimmie M. Paraiso is a San Diego-based hair and makeup artist whose passion began in England during the height of 90s pop culture and was solidified after a life-changing salon visit in Paris. A Paul Mitchell graduate, she has worked in editorial, television, fashion shows, and hundreds of weddings since launching Aimmie M. Artistry in 2013. Inspired by global travel, she combines beauty with photography, videography, and digital art while serving clients on location and now at Gercy’s Salon in San Diego. She is passionate about empowering others through creativity, connection, and lifelong learning.

This series of photographs has been made during our journey together over the past ten years. The images include documentary photographs from daily life, art photography projects, and images inspired by Gercy’s work as a hairstylist.
Gercy’s Salon has been a dream of ours growing through years of conversations and shared visions. Since we first met, we’ve imagined creating a space that brings together community, art, and a thrift shop, all within the context of a welcoming and creative salon.
While our individual work takes different forms, creativity has always been one of the strongest threads connecting us. It shapes how we move through the world, what captures our attention, and how we express our love for each other and life.
The photographs in this exhibition reflect some of the experiences that have stayed with us along the way.
We believe the world benefits from more beauty, curiosity, and opportunities for connection, and we hope this can be a space where those things continue to grow.
